In 2005 we decided to share our home with a blenheim cavalier called "Ginger". She stole our hearts and we found out that everything you read about Cavaliers is true. They are the most gentle and loving dogs, their tails are always wagging and eager to please. They want nothing more then to be with you, where ever you go, camping, out for a walk, visiting family and friends or just sitting in a chair. Now we have 5 more and can’t even think what life would be like with out them.
Cavalier Breed General Information
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are a toy breed weighing between 12 and 18 pounds and standing around 12 to 13 inches tall at the shoulder. They are a breed with a natural coat that should be kept natural with minimal grooming. They do have long silky hair on their ears, bellies, tails, and legs. Their large, round, dark brown eyes seem to be a window into the very soul of the dog.
Cavaliers come in 4 colors.
Blenheim (Red & White with a red mask & ears)
Tricolor (Black & White with Tan points)
Ruby (solid red)
Black and Tan (with no white)
Cavaliers are an outstanding family companion -- they love to play, swim, travel, but most of all cuddle! In addition, they are intelligent and beautiful with little maintenance and they do well in the company of other animals (including cats!). One can easily say the Cavalier is becoming more popular as families learn of this breed's many wonderful features.
